Trip to the MFA
I spent the afternoon at the Museum of Fine Arts with my folks, who are visiting for the weekend. Most of our time was spent in the Egyptian & Near Eastern Art sections, which was just fine by me, although I did miss seeing my favorite Rodin. The reason I mention this here is to share a picture I took of this fabulous drinking vessel from the reign of Tudhaliya III:

As if I needed another reminder: the Hittites were pretty damn cool.

Thanks! I'm glad the shot came out. After many many tries. That room is pretty dark, and that cup is encased in thick plexiglass.
