1) What is the total number of books I've owned?
We're probably looking at five digits here. In my house (i.e., in Cambridge) now, about 500.

2) What is the last book I bought?
On Friday I bought Trask's Historical Linguistics, Lass' Historical Linguistics & Language Change, and van de Mieroop's A History of the Ancient Near East: ca. 3000-323BC.

3) What is the last book I've read?
The last one I finished is The Organization of the Anatolian Local Cults During the Thirteenth Century BC by Hazenbos. I'm in the process of (re-)reading Allen's Vox Graeca.

4) What are the 5 books that have meant a lot to me?
(In no particular order) The Catcher in the Rye, when I was 15. Words and Rules, when I was 13ish, although I didn't realize the significance until some years later. The Bhagavad Gita, age 17. A fifth choice is more difficult... perhaps Robert Crowther's animal alphabet book, which caused me to permanently associate the letter V with voles.

Extra credit question: What book would you wish to buy next?
Something for my dad for Father's Day... I'm not sure quite what yet. I also want to get The Good Guys, a mafia novel by Bonnanno & Pistone, for my mom's birthday.
